COUGAR CAUGHT ON TRAILCAM IN NORTHEAST MINNESOTA

CN News, 9/20/07

Landowner Jim Schubitzke's trailcam took an excellent photo (see below) of a cougar in northeastern Minnesota. The photo was taken August 20, 2007 at 11:10 pm. Mr.Schubitzke's property is located in a remote area of boreal forest adjacent to a huge bog of black spruce, tamarack and open muskeg, interspersed with islands of balsam and white cedar, known locally as Cedar Valley. The site is east of MN Hwy 73 about 15 miles north of the small town of Floodwood. It is approximately 20 miles east of the Mississippi River.

This is roughly 25 miles ESE of Grand Rapids, MN, and approximately 47 miles from the Wisconsin line.
