December, 1998

Scat found by researchers. Thin-layer chromatography tests of scats indicated "probable" cougar.

February, 1999

Scat and set of tracks found by researchers. Thin-layer chromatography tests of scats indicated "probable" cougar.

March, 1999

Deer kill and tracks found in mud. Deer had been dragged over a fence and into an area of dense bottomland forest where the carcass was consumed. Two cougar prints were found in the mud along Nowlin Creek near the carcass.

March, 2000

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologist reported seeing adult cougar when boat light shined on the animal where a creek meets Lake Maumelle.
